Trading Terms
Some of these are not be the official definition but they are the easiest to understand.
Edge - a statistical advantage over the market.
Long - to bet a stock price is going to increase.
Short - to bet a stock price is going to decrease.
Short interest is the number of shares that have been sold short but have not yet been covered or closed out. Short interest is generally expressed as a percentage of the number of shorted shares divided by the total outstanding shares.
Spy - S & P 500 Stock index.
NRB - Narrow Range Bar.
NRBC - Narrow Range Bar Consolidation.
GBI - Green Bar Ignored, a single green bar between two red bars.
RBI - Red Bar Ignored, a single red bar between two green bars.
Bull Elephant Bar - A large green candle usually engulfing several candles to it's left.
Bear Elephant Bar - A large red candle usually engulfing several candles to it's left.
Stop Order - an order that executes to close a trade if a trade goes to wrong way into a set price.
Stopped out - a stop order is executed.
Risk Reward Ratio - how much money a trader risk vs how much money that trader makes.
